Its the season for love

Mrs. Miller says it best…

Christmas LOVE
Not only at Christmas, but all year long…

As we look back and celebrate 2014, we realize this was a year of love. What better time of year to reflect on true love than at Christmas? Although our love story has no comparison to the love God showered on us with Baby Jesus, we are grateful everyday for the fairy tale God’s hand had in our lives. Never forgetting the true story of Christmas, we will reflect on the memories of 2014 and reminisce of the miracle of Jesus birth.
The Miller’s looked a little like this: the first moment of the year, we “took a dive together”…literally into a 55 deg pool at the strike of midnight to kick off our year under the stars. (The star has great meaning, and even shone bright where our Savior was born). Frantic some might have expected was calm and relaxing for us as we prepared for our wedding. Mind you, we had a year to get all the kinks worked out and details sorted. If any of you know us, we are planners, thus smooth sailing ahead. Time seemed to fly and before we knew it, we were married in a beautiful ceremony on March 28th, the 3rd month of the year. (For those of you who don’t know, “3” is our number…, and three is significant of the wise men who came to celebrate the birth, the birth in manager, in Bethlehem). It was truly fabulous! We are blessed with many friends and family to have made our day unforgettable. For those who shared our moment in person, and those who were in our hearts, we thank you for all your love and support!

Fast forwarding now to somewhere in mid July – James had an opportunity to take a career change. Approached for the 3rd time, he saw this is a sign. Under sleepless nights and fear of the unknown, he stumbled across a “yes” and is now teaching Medical Foundations at Willow Canyon High School. Here he has been able to touch many lives, to “coach from a soap box” in his 40 chair off white classroom, to be the voice of inspiration at sports games, and to have become teacher of the month after having gotten his feet wet, 4 months in. I know the “Scrooge and Santa Claus” moments (that went viral on my Facebook page) had nothing to do with it, but show his love and soul upon which now he is embarking.
I continue to work toward forwarding my career in PT, and in someday owning a clinic. Woman hours have gone to educating the public on functional strengthening and injury prevention, talks on the benefits of physical therapy in any training process – running, sports, cross fit, and simply for the weekend warriors, and the beginning of leadership training. I continue to learn about myself and grow. I couldn’t do it without such a wonderful husband and friend at home, cheering me on along the way, supporting and encouraging me. We are truly blessed to be here! Furthermore, we are blessed that not only this Christmas season, but always – God guides our steps, carries us when we can’t walk, and has given us something greater to be Thankful for at the end of the day, & the finale to the close of the year. Merry Christmas!

ps….I love you Babygirl……

Playoffs…. “Playoffs!!”

As the eve of the ncaa football regular seasons comes to an end, the selection committee have a tough choice to make. Or do they. To me it’s pretty simple.

My top 4…

1. With a 29 game winning streak. Defending national champions. Undefeated at 13-0 in the 2014-2015 season. Respect is earned and they have earned it. When everyone is reaching to be on top. When you are on top the hunter becomes the hunted. Every team plays there best against the champs. A win is a win no matter how pretty the outcome. My number one team is the Florida State Seminoles…

2. A team that plays in the toughest division. With one loss. They Continue to prove time and time again why this program is top notch. Goes to no other than… “Roll Tide” Alabama Crimson Tide.

3. The champion of the conference of champions. With one loss. Finally not folding late in the season. They have this years heisman trophy winner. Most likely, depending on the pick, the number 1 draft pick in the 2015 NFL draft. The number three team is the Oregon Ducks.

4. This can go to three teams. The Ohio State Buckeyes. Baylor Bears. TCU Horn Frogs. Big 10 champions vs the Co-champions from the big 12. All three teams have one loss. Ohio State lost to a team who finished with a 6-6 record. Baylor lost to a team who finished with a 7-5 record. TCU lost to a team who finished with a 11-1 record. So who gets the vote…. Because Ohio State lost to a lesser opponent than Baylor they’re out. Yes Baylor lost to West Virginia BUT unlike the NFL where the head to head matchup actually means something ( Cowboys beat Seattle but due to conference record/division record Seattle is ahead of them in a tie breaker and would make the playoffs ahead of the Cowboys if both teams finished with the same record) the victory over TCU should count for something. It should mean more than the “eye test”. Because if your going off the eye test then the eye test should tell you that in a head to head matchup the winner should move forward. So my number four team is the RG3-less, the she-man Britney Grinder departure…..the Baylor Bears…

Everyone else have fun bowling and we’ll see you next year… The committee should read this blog and focus on 5-25. It’s really that simple.
